Mountain Quail Oreortyx pictus

Category E

Native Range

North America. Mountains along the western coast of N. America from the Rockies in British Columbia southwards to Baja California

British Occurence

Many species of quail are kept as aviary birds and may escape from time to time. The restricted range and non-migratory nature of this species means that it will never make it across the Atlantic unassisted.
